The concept alone makes this a go-to spot when visiting New York City. What is Chefs Club? It’s is an innovative restaurant that features renowned and up-and-coming chefs from around the world. Chef JJ Johnson, a James Beard-nominated chef, had the privilege of being the first chef-in-residence to take over the space to showcase his culinary skills. Chef Johnson created a superb dining experience for the public to indulge in his famed Afro-Asian cuisine. We enjoyed the Scallops, House Dumplings with Braised Oxtail and the Afro Spiced Lamb Suya with house-made Kimchi. Here’s a few more dishes that graced the menu:
- Fresh-baked Roti with pine nut & scallion, eggplant, chickpeas, and sunny-side-up egg.
- Tuna Tartare with benne seed, shies, and curry crunch.
- Piri Piri Prawns with Asian pear, raisins, and scallions.
- Collard Green Salad with Azuki bean, cucumber, cashew, and coconut dressing.
