LOCATION WE VISITED
The Culinary Institute of America, 1946 Campus Drive (Route 9), Hyde Park, NY 12538-1499
While visiting the Fishkill, New York area I decided to figure out what were some of the hot spots that this area of the country had to offer. You always hear about all of the amazing restaurants in the city but never about the many hidden gems outside the city. I found out that the Culinary Institute of America was right around the corner from where I was staying in Hyde Park. What a treat to be able to visit the school where Anthony Bourdain, Duff Goldman, Anne Burrell, and Marcus Samuelsson call their alma mater. I was even more pleasantly surprised to find out they have several different restaurants that I could choose to dine with. I decided to make a reservation at the famous restaurant Bocuse named after Paul Bocuse. It was definitely an experience to remember. My meal started off with the world-renowned Black Truffle Soup. Can I just say amazing to describe the tastes that were all encompassing in the soup? My second course was the sea bass that was seared to perfection along with its share of veggies. Lastly, the meal ended with a chocolate creation that was just perfect the portion although I could have eaten several of them in one setting. To sum it up Bocuse did not disappoint, and I will definitely be going back again to try more goodness on their menu!
